The Pain of Falling

Drowning in the edge of sorrow
Waiting for happiness to be borrowed
Pulling the stake off the center
Trying to revive the heart from danger

A bloodless battle emerges inside
As two opposing feelings push each other aside
A soundless moan can be heard
As one ventured the other dead

A war between the heart and the mind
Fighting for something that made the heart blind
A love, for the mind, worth nothing
A love, for the heart, means everything

Striking the armor with a gleaming sword
Revealing the true feelings in bold
The love felt completely revealed
Yet the menace of it all is sealed

Never better—always have to suffer
Entering the forest of doom—fading in gloom
Shattering into pieces--- agony never ceases
Pain subsides—but scars remain

Only stupid hearts to blame.
